P1 Welcome Lunch Thursday 30th August
A welcome lunch will be offered to P1 pupils and their parents/carers on Thursday 30th August at 12.00 noon. This is to allow parents to see it first-hand, meet dining-room staff and sample a meal if they wish. Most children become very familiar with the process and school staff and senior pupils will be there to assist P1 pupils during the first full week.
If you wish to come along and share this welcome lunch-time with your child, you should come to the P1 entrance at 11.50. You will be able to join your child in the classroom before making your way to the dining-room, for 12.00 noon, to enjoy your lunch. After lunch the children will go outside for their usual lunchtime play.
A hot meal or soup, sandwich and dessert option are available for pupils, free of charge. Parents/carers are welcome to purchase a meal at the same time, at a cost of £2.00, if they wish. If you prefer, you or your child can bring a packed lunch. The pupils all sit together and there is an emphasis on the social aspect of eating together.
We hope that as many of you as possible will be able to join us. However, if this isn’t possible a member of staff will take your child to collect his/her school packed lunch at 11.45, sit together and enjoy their lunch.We look forward to seeing many of you on Thursday.
