Green/Eco Dress Down Day
The Grounds for Learning and the Eco Committees are keen to establish a small orchard within the school grounds.
We would like to purchase 8 fruit trees before the spring.
The trees will provide opportunities for children to learn about the seasons and about pollination. They will also learn about caring for plants and will be able to harvest fruit to use in the classroom for food handling activities as these trees fruit quite quickly after planting.
In order to raise money for this we plan to hold a Green/Eco Dress Down Day on Friday 24th February. Children who wish can come to school dressed in an Eco/Green/Gardening theme.
In return, if possible, we would ask for a small donation towards the purchase of our trees.
