Update: February 2021
The P7 class in Roslin Primary School have offered guided tours at Rosslyn Chapel for visiting schools for over ten years. Unfortunately tours were not possible this year because of COVID, but rather than put the Junior Tour Guide program on hold the P7 class created a movie to allow a much wider audience to see the wonders of Rosslyn Chapel and hear all about the historical characters that lived in and around the building.
You can watch this film and take part in the associated activity videos via this link.

Primary 7 pupils at Roslin Primary school have been trained to become Junior Tour Guides at Rosslyn Chapel. They provide engaging and interesting tours by children for children, inviting primary schools from across the Lothians to join them. Pupils usher tourists and visiting schools around the Chapel and do a short performance to show their take on the Chapel’s history. The guides transform into characters connected to the chapel to explore, learn and begin to understand some of the chapel’s unique history and heritage. The tour and quiz are approximately an hour long and led totally by the Junior Guides. Junior Tour Guides perform every second Thursday at 11 am. Schools in Midlothian can enter the Chapel for free and the Rosslyn Chapel Trust will pay for your transport. Bookings can be made by contacting the Chapel community@rosslynchapel.com or call 031 440 2159.

April 2017 – Good News!
We are delighted to say that Primary 7 have been shortlisted in the Scottish Education Awards 2017. Only 3 across the whole of Scotland are shortlisted. It is in the category, Transforming Lives Through Learning, for their Junior Tour Guide work with Rosslyn Chapel. The 3 judges will visit the school and chapel next week to find out more details about our nomination.
We are looking forward to meeting the judges and sharing our partnership with Rosslyn Chapel.
There is an award ceremony in Glasgow on 7th June. Two children from the class have been invited and will represent the school along with Mrs Wilson and Miss Brodie. More information for the class will follow when we receive it.
This is a huge achievement for the school and the authority and we are delighted that this excellent work has been recognised.
