Border’s Railway Golden Ticket Winner!

As you’ll  probably be aware, the Borders Railway opens in Midlothian on 4th September 2015.  Trains have not run in Midlothian since the 1960s and it’s been the biggest rail project in the country for 100 years.

As part of the opening weekend celebrations, we took part in the Family Golden Ticket competition  run by the Borders Railway.  Children were asked to design a poster to promote train travel in Midlothian.

Lauren Souter, P6a is our lucky winner of the Golden Ticket for Roslin Primary. Lauren & her family  will enjoy a 2.5 hour round trip from an allocated station in Midlothian. There will be entertainment on board and a great carnival atmosphere!  All passengers on the train will be Golden Ticket winners and will ride on the train before the public.  We hope that Lauren & her family have a wonderful time.
