We are delighted to announce that Roslin Primary have been awarded “Best Documentary” at the MidVision Showcase held in Dalkeith Campus on Tuesday night.

It was a fabulous evening jam-packed with primary school children from across Midlothian as well as comperes from Dalkeith and some impressive performances such as ‘Uptown Funk’ from the St. Davids Soul Band.

From the more than 30 schools that entered the competition, Roslin was selected as one of 12 grand finalists invited to submit a documentary video and “Eurovision” style song entry, based on our designated country of South Africa.

All Primary 6 pupils were invited to attend the special event along with our dance team who have been working closely with the dance specialist Joanne Thomson to create a unique routine to perform to our song.

Team South Africa opened the show and gave a dazzling performance which featured African drums, acrobatics and special UV glow in the dark paint which was used on costumes and our Zulu shields.  Roslin was also one of only 3 schools whose video was shown to the five-hundred plus audience.  Although we  just missed out the pupil voted song prize, many schools complemented our performance and recognised our hard work.

Details of the video recording of the show will follow.
